Palettes
Organise your scanned colours into named palettes for projects, references, or experiments.
What Are Palettes?
Palettes are collections of scanned colours that you can name, organise, and export. Use them to group colours by project, subject, or mood — like a digital version of a physical colour chart.
Viewing All Palettes
Tap "View All" in the My Palettes section on the home screen to open the full palettes list. This shows all your palettes in a scrollable list with colour previews and creation dates.
Creating a Palette
There are several ways to create a palette:
- From the results screen: Tap the save icon, then choose "New Palette" in the Save to Palette dialog
- From photos: Extract colours from an image, then tap "Save" to create a new palette with all extracted colours
- From the value scale: Save a tint or shade step to a new palette
Viewing a Palette
Tap any palette on the home screen to open its detail view. Each colour card shows:
- A large colour swatch (80×80px)
- Hex code in cyan
- RGB values
- Notes (if added)
- Delete button (trash icon)
Tap any colour card to view its match results — the same screen you'd see after a fresh scan.
Adding Colours
From within a palette, tap the camera floating action button (cyan circle with camera icon) at the bottom-right to scan a new colour directly into this palette.
Removing Colours
Tap the trash icon on any colour card to remove it from the palette. A confirmation dialog will appear before deletion.
Renaming a Palette
From the palette detail screen, tap the edit (pencil) icon in the top bar to rename your palette.
Deleting a Palette
Tap the trash icon in the palette detail screen's top bar. A confirmation dialog will appear — this action cannot be undone.
Exporting Palettes
Tap the share/export icon in the palette detail screen to access export options:
- PDF Export — Generates a shareable PDF document showing all colours with their hex codes, RGB values, and matched paint names
- Print — Sends the palette directly to a connected printer
PDF export is great for sharing colour references with clients or keeping a physical backup of your digital palettes in your studio.
Empty Palette State
If a palette has no colours yet, you'll see a helpful message: "No colors yet — Scan a color or add from photo to get started" with a camera button to begin scanning.
