Browsing Paints

Explore the full paint database, search by name, and track which paints you own.

Accessing the Paint Browser

Tap any brand logo on the home screen's My Paints carousel to open that brand's full paint catalogue.

Searching Paints

At the top of the brand paints screen is a search bar. Type any part of a paint name (e.g., "cadmium", "ultramarine", "burnt") to filter the grid in real time. Tap the X button to clear the search.

Paint Line Tabs

Below the search bar, horizontal tabs filter by paint line within the brand:

• "All Lines" — Shows all paints for this brand (with total count)
• Individual lines — e.g., "Heavy Body (45)", "Fluid (38)", "QoR Modern Watercolors (25)"

Scroll horizontally to see all available lines.

Filter Chips

A row of filter chips lets you further narrow results:

• All — Shows all paints in the current line/search
• Owned — Shows only paints you've marked as owned
• Not Owned — Shows only paints not in your collection

A summary line shows: "X of Y owned"

The Paint Grid

Paints are displayed in a 3-column grid. Each paint card shows:

• Colour swatch — Square preview of the paint colour
• Paint name — Below the swatch
• Pigment codes — Small grey text (e.g., "PB29, PW6")
• Opacity badge — Small label indicating transparency:
  • O = Opaque
  • SO = Semi-Opaque
  • ST = Semi-Transparent
  • T = Transparent
• Ownership checkbox — Top-right corner, tap to mark as owned

Paints you own display a cyan border highlight.

Marking Paints as Owned

Tap the checkbox on any paint card to add it to your collection. This enables:

• The "I Own This" badge on match results
• The "Use only paints I own" filter in mixing recommendations
• Quick filtering via the "Owned" chip

Free vs Pro Limits

When free users reach the 5-paint limit, a snackbar appears: "You've reached the limit for [Brand]. Upgrade to Pro to own unlimited paints."

Supported Brands

Mixura's database includes 5,878 paints across 21 brands, covering acrylics, oils, watercolours, and gouache:
