Understanding Paint Matches

Each match card displays:

Match Quality Ratings

Mixura uses the Delta E 2000 (CIEDE2000) standard to measure colour difference. Lower Delta E means a closer match:

Delta E Rating What It Means
< 1.0 Near-perfect Imperceptible difference — virtually identical
1.0 – 2.0 Excellent match Barely perceptible — only visible side-by-side in ideal conditions
2.0 – 5.0 Very good match Noticeable difference if looking closely, acceptable for most uses
5.0 – 10.0 Good match Obviously different on close inspection, same colour family
> 10.0 Fair match Clearly different, but related hue
